Recognizing NUO Staff
High Council
Counselor
Game Master

If in any situation, a staff member is not able to help you ingame to your satisfaction, or one is not available when you are playing, you may follow up with your concerns using the Contact Us link on this website or post on our forums and we will respond as soon as possible. Please be sure to include your email, account name, icq(if available), and to note your concern if you use the Contact Us link to email us.

NUO Staff members will all have a few distinguishing characteristics ingame that will prevent potentialy malicious players from impersonating them too closely. When interacting with characters who present themselves as Staff members, be sure to look for a few tell-tale indicators:

Senior High Council Members

The three Senior High Council Members fulfill a role similar to a Seer in UO. They are unique in that they perform as both staff and player. Other than in performing their HC duties, they hold no other special powers. The Senior High Council members are permanent apointments to the HC whereas the other six members are Delegates that can change from week to week. Their primary responsibility is to guide the HC during meetings, schedule weekly meetings, and to establish the weekly agenda.

Counselors

Counselors are the Staff members who will respond to ingame concerns more often than any other staff type. They are mostlyavailable to players as a resource for informational purposes. They can aid you in regard to questions about the game systems, the website, or almost anything else related to NUO.

Gamemasters

(GMs) are available ingame for serious gaming issues that a Counselor cannot assist you with. They typically will not respond until requested by a Counselor. They will likely schedule a meeting with you ahead of time as they are not responsible for queue response.

About Us

NUO has had many eras of evolution. Originally it was a place where a small set of friends could log in some hours engaging in some equal-footed PvP without interference. We organized some siege-style and arena events on a regular basis. That eventually evolved into a more persistent world environment. All the while, it attracted many of our fellow gamers in that it offered possiblities for satisfying the needs of our type of gamer that every other MMORPG fails to blend into one package. Namely, the three prime elements listed on our homepage; meaningful PvP, risk vs. reward PvE, and the ability to significantly impact the virtual environment. In addition to satisfying these three requisites of a true MMORPG, we offer a grief-free environment of "honorable" conflict. No game would be enjoyable without some semblance of competition. But gaming, as in all things, is fruitless when it offers more grief (and financial burden) than enjoyment. And thusly we reveal our view of NUO in its current state.

Our staff has years of experience in online gaming and all of its complementary skills. Our collective resume, both virtual and real-world, boasts proficiency in HTML/CSS, Photoshop, C# coding, large community leadership(Guilds and Careers), game design, computer networking, forum and website administration, etc. What this means to you, the gamer, is that NUO benefits from extensive customization and support in auxiliary services that enhance the gaming experience. Our current hard resources are the following; standalone server with 1.4Ghz, 1Gig Ram, Cable Connection, 30GiG Scuzi HDD for consistency and reliability. Ventrilo voice server on separate hardware. All of which is upgradable/changable according to the needs of our community.
